I have a gallon 'paint can' of carb cleaner solvent. Drop the carb parts in, let them sit overnight, and they come out clean. The firing pins on my rifles are getting gummy, and I have one new (to me) rifle covered in cosmoline. I was wondering if this would be an easy way to clean the bolt on my rifles without damaging them. Anyone know if this would work, without damaging the rifle parts or stripping off the finish?
