Why does my neighbor's car alarm constantly go off by itself?

Almost everyday I hear my neighbor's car alarm go off. He works nights, so he is asleep during the day, so I know that he is not doing it. We live in a little circle of duplexes and nobody is ever around our cars. What is making it go off by itself?
